Y'all here we are. 90 days away... and we just had an amazing weekend at the lake with the Hemphill clan!

With warm weather in store, a bit of an allergy attack and a long weekend sandwiched between two very hectic shower-filled weekends... it sure was nice to sit back and relax.

A few things have happened... and I am so excited to fill you in!

Our family of 3 has as of recent become a family of 4! Now, now... this may not be everyone's idea of a growing family, but we are happy to introduce...

Pearl {insert a very southern, chic and sophisticated middle name here} Hemphill

Praise the Lord, friends! She is Dally's biggest fan, and it's the greatest feeling in the World to let them run, play, share and relax. These are two G R E A T girls.

Now, for a little back story on P... Adam and I met her as she was staying with a few of our good friends, The Coopers! They, like us, think the best way to fill your home is with adopted and/or fostered pups! One night we went on a dinner date to the Cooper's homes and though the dinner, conversations, wine and company were impeccable, the "walking of the pups" was a thrill and a blessing.

Right off the bat, is that the expression? I knew I wanted to expand our puppy family, A on the other hand; was not as easily sold.  We first set a play date with Tink, more like Tank... as she is not a chihuahua and she is the leader of the pack. Since it was raining we found ourselves in a parking garage... it wasn't a match. And it was heart breaking, but something better was in store.

I took Dally for a little one on one walk sesh with J&C Cooper and the Main Event... P! I, like Char did my extensive research over time informing myself on formal introductions with a K-9. The side by side walking and preparation on both parts truly paid off, IT WAS A SUCCESS!

We separate for a few days and we find ourselves missing the eloquent Pearl, so we set up a sleepover and prepared Dally for what the future could hold. As expected, Jonathan took A outside to show the in's and out's of dog walking and walking with the remote control car, i.e. Pearl! The meeting went great, we talked and played over a few drinks and then we were us. A family of 4 for the first time, sitting...watching a movie and enjoying our first night as the Los Hemphill's Cuatro. Oddly enough, it felt normal and we wouldn't be able to go back. At this time, Dally is the only one with furniture privileges but how do you say no to those eyes... the night came to a close and with the familiarity from her former life she hopped, yes like a bunny, into her kennel for a long nights rest, exhausted from her first night with her sister!

Fast forward about a week and a half, we have been on two long car rides to East Texas, found our way on a few neighborhood walks, heard and had a mini freak out with our first Fireworks experience and visited Gran and Pop Hemphill! This was a heck of a time and it's safe to say our World won't be slowing down anytime soon...

For information on how to introduce your pets or why it is so important feel free to shoot me an e-mail or write me a comment! Making your family bigger is the best when it is done the right way!
