They say time repeats itself, and in my short years I have began to notice just so.
Baking has always been a passion of mine, so much so, that I decided I would go to the Art Institute of Dallas and begin my journey of pursuing a a career in baking. Long story short, though my dreams didn't stop, the idea of owning my own bakery did. It began to lose it's excitement and it wasn't something that I enjoyed doing after I was forced to write a 5 page food journal nightly on what I did in class and for homework (not including the baking homework and regular Math, Science and History homework). So now with many thanks to my Pinterest boards, I have found myself itching for a baking session. I think up these lavish ideas in my head where I am able to create a beautiful piece with the decorations to follow and host the most wonderful dessert soiree. I then remember that I don't have very many people that would want to attend these events if it did not involve going out to the bar or wearing sweatpants! What was I thinking when I became such a idealist / dreamer, but hey a girl can dream...So I have decided that it is official Apt. 10- 108 Baking Co. is officially open, and by open I mean, baking again. Today, I will attempt a cake, who knows if anything will turn out how I want it to but, again, a girl can dream... I will keep you posted what I decide to bake and if I even follow through, but with an urge this strong, I am not sure even a Wine Tasting could keep me away from the kitchen today!
Did you ever pursue a dream and realize that it wasn't what you thought?
Let me know in the comments section!
Sincerely, Shelbi
