Guys, can you believe it's over? Here comes the time for your un-realistic resolutions, the weight loss and the holiday lull. Believe it or not, there is no time like the present, (see what I did there), to wrap your holidays up like organizing the decorations for the next year. And hey, they look pretty too.

Before you start - you should designate a spot in your garage, attic or closet for the storage items. You should also be sure that the entire space you are going to put the items is clean and organized and that this won't be wasted. We often store our Christmas items next to the elf door in our upstairs/attic so that we can easily grab it when the season comes about.

  • Organize your holiday decor into certain categories, for instance: Stockings + Tree Skirt, Lights, Ornaments, Christmas Books, Christmas Movies, Pajamas, Wrapping Materials, Wreath Storage + Decor.
  • Find stackable bins that are easily detectable and fit perfectly in your space. Rule of thumb: Measure, measure, measure.
  • Just because you have multiple types or ornaments, doesn't mean they all have to be used every year. You can choose to label more in depth or, like me, organize them by style so that they can be used on an as needed basis.
  • Honestly I also tend to over date things because, one year I think it is an amazing idea to go rustic, while the next I just finished watching trolls with Mae and think - Oh yes, definitely a rainbow tree with a neon star. It screams J E S U S, right?

I am off to convince Adam that this stuff should go in the attic today because, #newyearnewme? or because I said so, which ever makes him love me more.

Sincerely, Shelbi
