I feel like I have been focused on weddings lately, solely mine and I promise I won't make it a habit, but I am just loving it!
5. EVERYTHING HEART SHAPED - When you get engaged everyone sends you something,
especially if you sign up to The Knot wedding app! And, as it should be...
everything is beautiful, dainty and of course, heart shaped. How can you not
smirk or feel the least bit excited! It is something I will miss when the
engagement ends. (Meaning all of you should send me cute heart shaped notes
from here on out)!
6. A GOOD ARGUMENT ENDING IN, I STILL
LOVE YOU -This is a big one for me, it's
also a personal one. Which might be why it’s not up on #1? I love the feeling
that no matter what, I have someone who loves me indefinitely. The feeling of security
and of faith makes me remember why an argument just shows that marriage is
based upon compromise. And though arguing is never fun, the making up isn't that
bad... especially when it's with someone you love.
7. THE PUPPY DOG EYES MARRIED FOLKS GIVE US -Before the "you don't know what you are getting yourself into" or the, "are you old enough to be married"... comes the puppy dog eyes. You can tell the mean well, but they are so concerned with how old you are or will be when you wed, even if you'll be 25.The concern that comes with the eyes, that is what I love. Just another testament that you are loved, or that they are bitter their niece, nephew, granddaughter or daughter didn't beat you to the down the aisle!

1. FOIL STAMPED EVERYTHING - I
don't truly even know if this is a trend right now, but I cannot get away from
it! It's like when I went through everything must be marbled phase epidemic,
though I still love it... I seem to enjoy it in small doses, a classier feel.
Everything that I look at I seem to add in, "How great would that looked
if it were foil stamped"? Is this normal...
2. THE INSANE AMOUNTS OF
CONGRATULATIONS - Hiiiiiiiii, I cannot
stress this enough... YOU WILL NEED MORE THANK YOU NOTES (if you are anything like
me)! This is one of the BIGGEST things that I have noticed since I got
engaged. Whether I am at the grocery store and someone pays it forward
by paying for my groceries and congratulating me, I am inquiring about
photographs and they are just voluntarily dishing out advice for the best
engagement, wedding etc. or I am on my social media accounts! I cannot begin to
tell you how humbling and exciting this feeling is.
3. PICKING A DATE - One of
the strangest things to be excited about, I AM EXCITED. This day, marks
the rest of my life. It marks my past as an Elkin, and my future as a Hemphill.
This day will mean the world to me from here to eternity so I think it's okay
if I get a little excited, right? Hearing it aloud for the first time made me
giddy, but the second time made me ecstatic!
4. MEETING WITH STRANGERS - I love meeting new
people if it is in small crowds, for the right reason. Especially when they are
talking about something they love. And everyone I have met so far in my wedding
vendor list has been fantastic! They ask you some of the most intimate
questions regarding the most beautiful moments of your life, and they want to
make it perfect for you. I love that, especially a good stranger. They
become friends and can share the memories and be there for more if you keep
them in your lives, like you should!
